What to Bring to Your Appointment
To ensure we provide the best care, please bring:
- A valid referral letter from your GP (required for Medicare rebate eligibility).
- Your Medicare card and any private health insurance details.
- A list of current medications and relevant medical history.
- Previous pathology or skin imaging results, if available.
Balwyn Dermatology - Fee Policy
Patients with a valid GP referral are eligible for a Medicare rebate. We will submit your claim directly to Medicare once your account has been fully paid.
As Balwyn Dermatology is a private (non–bulk-billing) clinic, fees apply to all consultations.
If a procedure is required during your appointment, an additional fee will apply. Our staff will always explain the nature of the procedure and any associated costs beforehand, ensuring you have all the information you need to make an informed decision about proceeding.
For Australian residents, please note that current legislation does not allow private health insurance providers to cover medical services performed outside of a hospital setting.
Balwyn Dermatology - Cancellation Policy
If your appointment time becomes inconvenient, we are happy to reschedule it provided you give us at least 48 hours’ notice. This notice period allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may be in urgent need of care.
Unfortunately, if an appointment is not cancelled within this timeframe — or if it is missed — a $75 cancellation fee will apply.
